Q: What is Ezyflare?
A: Ezyflare is a quality, rugged, portable battery powered supplementary warning device that uses LED lighting technology to attract attention and to warn others of hazards.
Q: Why was Ezyflare developed?
A: Traditional incendiary flares are being progressively banned around the world. They have been the cause of many accidental fires, are unsafe to implement and produce waste and litter whenever they are used.
Q: Why do I need an Ezyflare?
A: If we examine the statistics for vehicle use alone, it is tragic to find so many lives are lost while tires are being changed, or when vehicles are stranded roadside due to other mechanical failures. Oncoming drivers are aware only too late that someone is close to the road, with devastating results. An Ezyflare is economical to purchase, consumes so little space in the trunk of a vehicle, yet is capable of a profound positive effect on a person’s safety. In fact, anywhere and in any situation where one needs to be seen from land or air, Ezyflare has the potential to save lives.
Q: From what distance is it visible?
A: Ezyflare domestic version is visible up to 8000 feet (2500 metres). This will vary according to local conditions such as weather, ambient light and product placement.
Q: What is the actual size of the Ezyflare?
A: EzyFlare is 8 inches X 2 inches (200mm X 50mm) overall.
Q: How is Ezyflare powered?
A: Ezyflare is powered by four AA sized Alkaline batteries.
Q: What is the expected battery life?
A:The four Alkaline batteries provide around twelve hours of continuous operation.
Q: Where can it be used?
A: Although primarily designed for vehicle and roadside applications, Ezyflare continues to expand on its usefulness in various situations around the world. E.g., Emergency Services, Police, Military, Boating, Recreational (Hiking, Camping), Mining Industry, and the Trucking Industry to name a few.
Q: What makes Ezyflare so effective?
A: It is broadly accepted that a flashing light can be made far more visible, and therefore attention getting, if it can be made to move as well. Ezyflare exploits this characteristic by rotating the lights whilst pulsating them. The subsequent movement of light becomes the primary aspect to catch an observer’s attention.
Q: Is Ezyflare waterproof?
A: The domestic version Ezyflare is water resistant. It can withstand heavy rainfall and it can float. The commercial model Ezyflare can withstand much harsher environments and is waterproof to one metre.
Q: Does the Ezyflare consume any power when it is in storage?
A: No. The power switch isolates the batteries from the electronic circuit. Therefore, the batteries will discharge only at the rate of their normal shelf life. Quality Alkaline batteries can be stored for more than six years, at the end of which, still contain a major portion of their charge. Consequently, an Ezyflare brought into use after, say, six years of inactivity, will still operate subject to the quality and initial power level of the installed batteries. The battery manufacturer should be consulted to determine shelf life characteristics of the batteries.
